Is this a watch store? Where in Tokyo? I'm going back there on March 😀

There are quite a number of 2nd hand watch shops in Tokyo, and the list is here
https://timepeaks.com/shop/watch_shop_tokyo_japan/

You'll find the link to Rasin there as well.

Am currently in Tokyo, and I didn't have time to visit these shops except Moonphase. But friends of mine have had good experiences with Moonphase, Kame-kichi and Ishida watches.

Japanese generally keep all B&P, and also maintain their watches in excellent condition. Most of them also have websites with their current inventory - they're in Japanese but google translate or Chrome will solve that problem.

Happy hunting!

Thanks for the link. I'll try to check some of these when I go.

I was there last August with a few buddies and I ended up buying a couple of watches at Jack Road. The place is excellent with great customer service. There are other interesting watch stores inside Nakano Broadway, where Jack Road is. We also saw interesting watches at Komehyo.

That is a nice watch and I like it very much 👍 ... so much that I'm on my way to the hunt for one as a matter of fact 🙄

@Thorbob Don't want to be indiscret, but what price range should I expect for a piece in a similar condition (my guess is around 1,5K$ ? )

Again huge congrats, stunning watch ! 🥰

If you look on the Japanese auctions, you should actually be able to find a good example for less than that. The Chronometer labeled ones drive up the price and are harder to find, but you can relatively easily find a 5722b variant (no Chronometer label, upgraded movement to Grand Seiko specs). I have the 5722b (same case, same medallion as above) and I love everything about it.

I'm about to send mine in for a service, so hopefully it'll fall back in line within the Grand Seiko specs. Until then, I'll just enjoy staring at the beautiful hands and markers...

I picked this one up on the Bay a couple of months ago, it's next on my service/refurbish list.

While on vacation in Japan, it seemed only natural to go looking for nice souvenirs, and what could be nicer than a vintage Japanese timepiece?
I was fortunate enough to come across a 1965 5722-9990 Grand Seiko in great condition.

I got rid of the (not that great) strap it came with, and fitted it with a nice dark brown lizard strap from Camille Fournet, which really fit the look of the watch (IMO, of course). I aslo fitted it with a Grand Seiko deployant, just because I prefer deployants laughing.gif .

My first vintage Seiko, and I am loving it!

And here it is:
