While on vacation in Japan, it seemed only natural to go looking for nice souvenirs, and what could be nicer than a vintage Japanese timepiece?
I was fortunate enough to come across a 1965 5722-9990 Grand Seiko in great condition.

I got rid of the (not that great) strap it came with, and fitted it with a nice dark brown lizard strap from Camille Fournet, which really fit the look of the watch (IMO, of course). I aslo fitted it with a Grand Seiko deployant, just because I prefer deployants [IMG].

My first vintage Seiko, and I am loving it!

    And here it is:

Nice pick-up, congrats! I was in Japan as well last month but I couldn't find watches that I like enough to take home, where did you find this one if you don't mind me asking?

That is an incredible example. I'm perpetually hunting for a crown like that for my 43999.
Jealous and congrats on the killer watch

I hope you know how rare this watch is, COSC certified as noted by the Chronometer on your dial. They are more rare as the Japanese watch makers abandoned COSC certification.

    An absolute classic. Congratulations!

The one that I own is one of the earliest from my collection, and has withstood many cullings.
