FS 1963 Omega Seamaster ref. 166.011-63 SC – SS case, SS furniture - $1000

Intro: Up for sale today is a clean stainless steel Omega Seamaster reference 166.011-63 SC sporting a lovely linen dial with a clean 562 movement. Another date window watch that I’d like to move on to a better home.

Dial: SWISS MADE Linen dial with sharp stainless markers, doubled at 12. Very clean overall with a striking pattern that looks almost 3D. Sharp date window at 3 o’clock. Coat hanger “S” and sharp lettering overall. Hash Mark at 3 o'clock is correct, see detailed photo.

Case: Stainless Steel case and bezel with stainless steel back. Unpolished in my hands but not sure prior to my ownership. Examine the photos of each lug carefully. No damage beyond typical scratches of a watch that was worn proudly.

Crown: Correct crown, not sure if it’s original to the watch though. (It MAY be a service replacement, smarter people than me can chime in.)

Crystal: Unsigned replacement crystal with minor scuffs and scrapes. Small crack between 6 and 7 marker.

Movement: Caliber 562, serviced before I got it, so I don’t really want to open it up right now. There is a bit of rotor noise that does not affect the functionality of the watch. The repair would be to replace the bridge which they felt was better to maintain originality at this time.

Strap: Generic leather with generic SS buckle

Price: $1000 OBRO … Payment accepted via PayPal F&F, bank transfer, Wise, or cash/gold/silver in person. If you are local, we could always meet up for a coffee from Wawa on me. 😀

Reviews: I did one successful trade with SkunkPrice but he never got around to leaving positive feedback. trust me, if it weren't above board, he would have said something to the world. 😀 All my feedback here is from being a buyer, but as you can see I'm highly trusted by serious members of the community already. I have a few transactions on r/watchexchange as a buyer, u/revzman. I have a profile on ebay where I have been buying and selling since 1999 with 100% positive feedback.

A nice watch from a most honorable guy, even if he is from New Jersey. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from Erric, but I never get the chance because he is constantly trying to buy something from my collection. He's a stand up guy and an all around good person. GLWS.

Hey Erric, I don’t think this is missing a marker at 3. I see other silver dialed non lumed variants of this reference do have a marker there, but can’t find other linen dials of this reference for comparison. We have seen variations on lettering and applications on textured dials before.
Perhaps someone with this exact reference with textured dial can weigh in- but seeing a clean hash mark at 3 and no evidence of a missing marker on the dial- I think this one is fine.

I appreciate the verification and sanity check. I have updated the listing to reflect the research we (you mostly) did this morning.

Just going by what I have seen. If someone has other information, please step forward. No need to handicap such a lovely watch.

Also, Omega dials were well made: a marker is secured with pins going through holes in the dial, often two. No holes visible => probably never was any applied marker.

👍
