·Happy Nerd Year folks... it's 2017 and MWU - MoonWatchUniverse will keep updating exciting facts about the Omega Speedmaster chronograph in its 60th anniversary year.
Exactly 50 years ago Omega advertizing used an art work depicting the iconic image of Gemini IV astronaut Edward “Ed” White conducting the first spacewalk by an American astronaut on June 3, 1965. Although the artwork showed a single Omega Speedmaster chronograph strapped over White’s left forearm, in reality both Gemini IV crew members were wearing a couple of Omega Speedmaster chronographs making the Gemini IV mission the first NASA mission during which 4 Speedmaster chronographs were used on a spaceflight mission.

·Let's hope they take the decision to loose the large box ( shoe box ) coming with future Speedmaster chronographs

·In fact those first Speedmaster chronographs were intended to hit the shops before Christmas 1957... but only made it by January 1958 👎

👎 Of course but Omega will also open the new location for its famous museum... with an update of all displays, making corrections to the spacesuits among others... 🤔

·Yep, a very cool watch in any way - I assume they had to chose different flavors of Speedmasters (calibers, colors, periods) and as you mentioned the visual difference between this one and another standard Moonwatch seen from that angle is small enough to appear redundant. 😀
