Folks,

Adding to my collection recently is this 1944 Omega 28.10 RASC Bumper. I found the dial appealing but also noticed a few things I wanted to get checked out by members. Is it correct to expect no Omega symbols on crystal or crown for this period? While I find the blued sweep hand cool, is that a correct item, also hands ok? Interesting caseback ring to open the back, no markings noted on the exterior. No "swiss made". I was a little surprised to find the incabloc shock system on such an old movement although research tells me this is possible, thoughts? All other comments welcome.

While she's ticking away quite nicely, -12s/d, 261 degrees, 0.5ms beat error, I'll plan to get a full service and clean done.

Enjoy and thanks in advance.

Neither crown nor crystal would be signed, so it's possible both are original.

My nephew's 28.10 RA SC PC; crown is not original, but the hands are. My sense is the hands of yours are original.

Thank you for the feedback Art. I've researched this one just a little more and everything seems to check out so far. I think I was most concerned about the hands but those match your nephews, including the blue sweep. Even better to hear the crown and crystal may be original to the watch. It's also a nice size case at 35mm, been fun to compare similar investments this week..

Omega font and symbol seem thick and dark, so I suspect a repaint at some time in it's life.

I love these watches, the "bump" when you wear one is like the heartbeat of a partner that is dear.

I have an old 30.10 friend in service that I really do miss.
