Hi all. I'd be grateful for any insight on this 35mm 1943 Sei Tacche that arrived today.
Very different case to my 1947, 35.5mm Longines Ref 5483 Sei Tacche, but similar to my 1940 Tre Tacche, though rounded step instead of sharp step on the front. (Sei Tacche on top in pic, Tre Tacche middle)
I really like the clean dial design, with the blued hands.
Curious what the situation would have been for retailing watches in 1943 occupied France.

Lovely watch馃憤 Is 1943 invioce comfirmed by Longines? I would expect this dial
and hand-set to be more second half of the 1940`s than first, but I have no doubt that
it is legit.

I would guess 1944/1945 invoice, based on the 6'564'181(?) serial number.

I have seen similar sei tacche cases before. Maybe it is a reference 5193 (see an example below)? I wonder if there is an "M" on the movement? I would have expected this with a Fab. Suisse dial.

Thanks for response. No, I was just going on the serial number, I have a backlog of watches for extracts I need to get round to doing but mounting cost has been putting me off. Didn鈥檛 think it was much different in style from the simple dials and blued hands of the RAF and Fleet Air Arm watches of the period, but I don鈥檛 know.

It's a poor pic, need to pop back in to the jewellers and get the back taken off again, don't like doing it myself, tend to scratch things. Thanks for finding that, 5193 is it. I'm more pleased with it than expected. Wasn't entirely sure of size, despite checking with auction house that it was indeed 35 rather 33mm, and without seeing it in profile thought it would have the same case as my ref 5483 Sei Tacche. It's also 12mm thick, but feels a lot chunkier.

Congratulations! Was following this one myself but missed the live auction. You got a very cool watch for a great price, imo.
