Hi everyone,

For sale is my lovely Longines 6280 sei tacche w/ 22AS caliber with an invoice date of the 24th of January 1952. At the time of this writing, this watch is two days shy of its 72nd birthday, and honestly, I can only wish to look as good when I eventually reach this age 😁 😎

The 35mm case (not including crown) does show signs of wear but for its age it is quite minimal. The case is also sharp and retains its original lines, chamfers, and brushing. The caseback shows the most "wear marks" from slipping tools, but most of what can be seen isn't deep enough to catch my finger nail. The crystal is intact and free of any damage. The dial and hands contain the original radium and both have aged evenly. All of the lume plots at each of the hour markers are present. The dial has patinated to a pleasing warm tone with some radium burn around the center of the dial and around the 12, 3, 6, 9 numerals. The dial does show slight surface scratches in places. While worn on the wrist these disappear but when viewed closely they become more visible. All close up dial shots below were photographed through a loupe as I wanted to do my best to show the dials condition. This piece was serviced in December of 2022 and will come with the service receipt. The shape and size of the original crown make this piece easy to manually wind, and with the recent service, winding the crown is silky smooth. I seldom wore this piece and when I did, it was for short durations, but I can say that when I did wear it, it kept time well. I can't/won't comment beyond that as I don't have the tools to do so. The lug width is 18mm and the watch will come on a generic black leather strap. The shown Torre strap is a personal strap that I have worn on other pieces, and as such will not be included. In addition to the service receipt, the watch will also come with the shown Longines Extract.

I am asking $800 with worldwide shipping included.

The watch and I are located in Northern California. Shipping within the US will be expedited. Anywhere beyond will be slower, though if the buyer would like it to be faster, that can be done at cost. I will accept payment via PP F&F or Wise. Returns not accepted.

All of the photos in this listing were taken with my phone. I tried to capture as much as possible to represent the watch as best as I can. The photos should open up into a new window with better resolution. Lately, it has been cloudy and rainy so I am unable to provide direct sunlight photos; however, at the end of this listing are several wrist shots in direct sunlight taken last year. As the watch was seldom worn, those images represent accurate condition. For size reference, my wrist is 7.25".

A lovely watch with a very nice patina. I see the radium burn as an extra bonus - it gives the watch character. GLWS

What a beauty, congrats to buyer and seller. Not a good time for me to purchase, a relief perhaps I’m only seeing this now. Dibs to the new owner though!

Thank you @Bille and @CBM1590 for your comments 😀

This piece has sold and staying in the family!
Congrats! I had passed it on to my 25 year old son and he was very interested…but he had no time in his day to address it with me. It is a beauty for sure! Glad it is staying in the family. (And I’m thankful my son appreciates the beauty of a fine vintage auto).
