Hello everyone.

I am today offering another Omega 30T2-SC, this time however this model was designed for use by the navigators of the Royal Airforce during World War Two - The Omega 2292.

For collectors of militaria and vintage omegas alike, one of the 2292 watches is considered a very desirable watch to make part of the collection given its remarkable history. Despite selling this one, one of this very same model will remain in my collection after this sale - I often wear them as 'lucky charms' because if they managed to survive through ww2 and make it out the other end, I figure I'll be able to get through my day too no matter how stressful! From their simply but very legible dials to the practical fixed bar cases, these are a great combination of style, practicality - and certainly make for a subject of conversation at the dinner table.

Dial: For an 84 year old watch the dial is in good condition, it is original first and foremost, and has not suffered significant damage over its life. There is clearly a patina of sorts that has developed, which I think adds to the rugged aesthetic quite appropriately for a military watch of this calibre. The very simple dial, is easy to read and remains untouched from restoration. The real eye catching part of this watch is of course the blued hands, with particular mention to the pear shaped hour hand, which beautifully captures the light and creates a display of inky iridescent blue tones.

Case: The alloy case is in nice shape and retains the original long and elegant lugs, that are often missing or damaged and best of all the chamfers and edges of the case remain sharp and very honest to the original design. Unfortunately, the 6B/159 markings that would usually be present on the caseback appear to have likely have been polished away. But otherwise, everything is in great, shape and appears to be all original - including the crown. The crystal has some light grazing, but given that this is a military watch, I have decided not to have it replaced as it adds a little to the history of this piece. If a buyer would like the crystal to be replaced I can arrange this at the point of sale. The case measures 32.5mm in diameter excluding the crown, which is smaller than a modern watch, but with the long lugs it still has a beautiful presence on the wrist, and to me is an ideal size for a discrete dress watch for an elegant gentleman.

Movement: The movement is of course a 30T2-SC movement which is well known as being one of the best movements ever made by Omega, renowned for its accuracy and ease of maintenance and and its running very well. I have not had it serviced during my ownership and offer no guarantees on accuracy. It is up to the buyers discretion if they wish to service it upon receipt of the watch. I have not experienced anything that concerns me, but as with all second hand watches, I recommend that they are serviced for your peace of mind. When I last wore it, i think it lost around 10 minutes over a 24 hour period.

Strap: The straps pictured is a nylon all in one strap that could be original or a replacement, however it certainly works well with the watch and is likely similar to something that will have been used. The colour is the classic RAF grey so seems quite appropriate to me.

Box / Papers: This watch does not come with box and papers.

Price: £1100 ONO (+£50 international shipping, or £15 within the UK)

Also, the post has been flagged as USA, but I think the watch is actually located in the UK?
