1902 Omega Skeleton Engraved Dial - Wondering if I paid the right price?

Hello, I am new to this forum, and Omega watches in general. I have recently won this Omega skeleton watch from 1902 on Ebay for $590, and was just wondering if this is the right price for a vintage watch like this. If so, what would be the value of this watch? I am not going to sell it, it just would be nice to know. It used to be a pocket watch, but it was retrofitted into a new case this year. The watch is HUGE! 48mm case diameter, and 13mm thickness.

I have taken it to my watch specialist, and right away he knew it was authentic and was amazed by the amount of time it must have taken to engrave the art decor on this watch. The only thing that he was not impressed with were the hands, he said they were terrible and did not even fit properly, and put in some beautiful blue steel hands. The watch runs flawlessly considering the age.

Thank you in advance!

🤦 Must be wandolec's cousin.

Return that thing. For $590 you can get a legitimate vintage Omega. Wristwatches were not made by Omega in 1902.

Is there even a small possibility that the movement is authentic? My watch specialist is Shane Ede (the best here in Toronto, you can look him up if you wish), and he has pretty much worked on everything.

Its a $20 Omega pocket watch movement that some Ukranians have hacked up and poorly engraved with a dremel, zero chance its real, the seller you bought it from does it for a living, that's who he is, the Ukranian watch frankener.

The movement is from an Omega pocketwatch. It has no business in a wristwatch case.

Frankly, even from them photos I can tell the engraving isn't that great quality.

Ok, thanks for the feedback. Thankfully I can open a Paypal case against the guy and get my money back.

Seller was pretty clear about what this is:

"CASE: The three piece Engraved deco case that provides with snap exhibition cover back lid. Gold-filled nickel case, new (made in 2013) custom made, fantastic, build specially for this excellent antique Omega movement and in excellent condition. This is a MARRIAGE watch. A marriage watch is the term used for a new, modern case that has been used to house a vintage pocket watch movement."

So little chance for the OP about the Paypal dispute?

Not at all disputing the origins (or value) of this thing already mentioned above, but Omega pocket watches in 1902 were being placed on the wrist (i.e., a pocket watch, in a pocket watch case, worn instead on the wrist, via various forms of leather straps attached to added "lugs"). . . just not this one.

Why the need to open a case? The seller offers a 14 day return policy so just inform the seller you want to return the watch.

Is that a "Ukrainian Guarantee"?
