Hi,
Just picked up a 2005 Speedmaster with 1861 from a friend he said it just stopped working about a week ago. The strange thing is when you pull out the crown to "set" the time the second and Chrono hands move for about 5 secs and stop.

Any Ideas

Thanks, Tom

I don't know but Al (archer) certainly will. one thing I do know is you bought it on the cheap if it's broken and you got no idea what's wrong with it 馃榿

Probably try the local watchmaker?

A Omega full service will cost you half of what you paid for that watch.

ok
should it go back to Omega -or my local watchsmith ??

If it's not been serviced since new, that means it should get a full service (and that's likely why it's stopped), including replacing all the seals (pushers, crown, etc.) so if your local watchmaker has an Omega parts account, he should be able to do the job without any difficulty. If he doesn't, he may be searching for the required parts on the open market, which can be more costly. So it really depends - you will know that Omega is a safe bet at least.
