I bought this a few weeks ago and was wondering if anyone might recognize the model/Ref? I thought the condition was nice and that it might be a gold case even though it wasn't listed as such, and it turned out to be. I've been running it on my desk for a week and it keeps great time so I'm reluctant to have it opened to find out the ref as no watchmaker wants to open a watch for me without servicing it (I have a long service lineup already). If anyone has a suggestion for sourcing a nice long 16/12mm strap I'd a appreciate it. I'd also like to know if the buckle is authentic or reproduction which would affect strap selection. Was just under 1k landed ok one this type? sorry for the pic heavy post!

Given the current price of gold, I think you've done well. The buckle looks correct for a mid-1960's US cased Omega. The original box is a nice touch.

The plain back tells me that this watch probably was a presentation piece originally, or at least was sold with that intention. Most will have the Omega Hippocampus logo on the back.

I think you will have a hard time finding a 16mm/12mm modern watch band for it. You might need to go custom made.

That's why I was asking about the buckle. I wonder if it would be easier to find a wider factory buckle and band?

You link to vina creations, I see they are no longer selling on Etsy and they have a 3 star rating.

I have ordered several times on Amazon with good results. Not ordered with them directly for custom made, but again, I’ve heard good things.
