Hey guys,

I'm looking to acquire a 145.022 speedmaster with a step dial and came across this particular piece - a 145.022 ST71. It looks great but the listing states that the bezel has been replaced with an original modern era bezel. Is this a big negative? Would you recommend I go for something which has all original parts? Thanks for reading.

Depends on price. Budget 250-400 for used DNN bezel. And a correct bracelet...that ones not original to watch. 1171 or 1175. Again 400-700 for good used.

From the pic above, the bracelet could be a type 1116 which were original (per MWO) to a 145.022-71. However, the case appears to be overpolished.

We ain't in 2016 no more... A nice DNN is ~$800 nowadays...

That does not look like a 1116 to me. The middle parts of the 1116 are smaller than the outer parts. Also the end links do not look like 575s to me. But it is hard to tell from that angle.

kind regards Max

The polished case would bum me out more than the bezel. The other factors have to do with cost IMO, but the case you have to live with. Id probably max out at $4k US on this personally. Others might even be less than that... but I doubt that is the asking price.

Gotcha. The asking price is about USD 4.4k. Based on all the responses, it seems like I should wait for a more original, untouched example to come along instead.

I’m not sold on the greenish lume. These aren’t that hard to find so I would hold out for a more attractive example with creamy yellow patina.

Hello! May I get your opinion on this 145.022 from 1991 please? Listing says that all parts are original.

Looks good to me. These 90s Speedmasters have the most consistent and beautiful patina. They are still out there so buy the best one you can 😁
