More than 3 actually. Here's the one from MWO, the dashes are at slightly different position than the one you just posted - so everything else is also different proportionately.

Not sure if you guys realize who the sellers are before lobbing some pretty hefty accusations at them of this being put together.

I am afraid that a high asking price and a smart address does not preclude the possibility that the seller knows not what he sells.

He should.

But he doesn't. In this case.

Yet another "honest mistake" by a dealer I suppose.

Maybe we should start a thread with that title

Or is it not the case that there are just several different variations of this Apollo XI version? Given the era they were made, isn't it usual to find loose tolerances in the manufacturing? Or if made in different locations, different tools being used or something like that..? Things today are far more strict and controlled than they once were.

You're conflating two separate issues here. It's possible that there were several variations of the Apollo XI 1969 case back. This possibility has been observed but not documented.

The other issue is all the straight writing case backs were produced later for the reference -69 and within a much later range of serial number. This has been widely observed and well documented.

The watch in question has a problem with the second issue. The parts involved have the potential to inflate the price and therefore deserved more scrutiny.

My -69 SW Apollo XI is resurrecting this thread.

Here compared to two random Speedies of mine.
145.022-69 SW Apollo XI (left), 3570.50 (center) and 145.022-69 SW (right).

Thanks @gemini4 ! It's really nice indeed. Very comfortable. By the way, do you think it could be original to the watch (I would expect a 1039/516 maybe)?

@Seaborg thanks for resurrecting. A numbered caseback makes no sense for the 145.022 Apollo XI, neither are the fonts and word separators correct. I thought it might be a black and white photo of the BA145.022 but those fonts don't match. Was it fake or from something else? 32nd prototype of the A11 caseback ?!? 馃槈
