Hi,

Try to find the original bracelet but don't wear it every day, so you don't make any scratches or damages on it. If you can later sell your watch in combination with this bracelet, it is better valued instead of without a bracelet.

Best, Matth

The older 1171 has screws, the 1171/1 pins.

Have to correct myself. It's the other way round. 1171/1 has screws.😟

It’s not. The vintage 1171’s have screwed links.

The modern service 1171’s have pins.

Apologies, my initial post (now edited) was the wrong way around which may have confused matters.

As I’ve mentioned above, vintage = screws, modern = pins.

I'm a big fan of the 1175 bracelet, the same age as an 1171 (my oldest is from 1/71) but with more of a flat link look. Need 640 or 47 end links, but you can generally pick them and a bracelet up for about the same as an 1171/633 all in. Most recent pic on my 165.024 but looks great on a speedy too...

So I‘ve got an old 1171 bracelet with a new 1771/1 Clasp??👎

Looks a bit like a transitional model.

Although it’s an 1171/1 with a 32, it’s stamped not laser engraved, so is one of the early /1’s which I believe started to appear in the early 80’s?

I think it’s perfectly conceivable that these early /1’s still has screw links.

A vintage 1171 has screwed links rather than pins and the number 11 in a circle as opposed to 32.
You're right David. This can be clearly seen in one of the photos I posted of my early 1171/633. This bracelet has two sets of screws, two either side of the clasp, with the screw heads on opposite sides of the bracelet.

I have, in the past, posted pictures, on this forum, of my Dad wearing this bracelet in the 1970's, but it would be difficult to pin it down to a specific year???😕

Question: Is the trapezoid Omega logo also an indication of vintage?

I would hunt a vintage one and until then I would wear it with a leather strap or a nato.
Personally I have a 67 with an original strap but I prefer wearing it with a strap...
Cheers
