Scarecrow Boat
··Burt Macklin, FBIHi OF,
For sale is an Omega Seamaster 145.016 -68 with an Omega 1116/548 bracelet.
My wife and I have started an exciting yet scary new chapter and I have decided to pare down my collection to just one or two keepers to help us out. This is my second listing in working towards that goal. I have pushed this one off as much as possible as this one is really quite painful to list. I bought this a couple of months ago from another member and this piece is just gorgeous and full of charm.
Overall this piece is in very good condition and it is such a joy to wear. As you can see from the original listing, it was serviced in 2021 and while I don't have physical proof of this, the movement is clean and everything operates as you would expect. I have worn this daily for extended periods of time and this watch has always kept time very well and has a healthy power reserve under full wind. I can't say this is unpolished as I have not owned this watch since it was first sold; however, I can say that it retains its original shape with sharp lines and chamfers. I can faintly see remnants of the original brushing but it has been "polished" down from use over time. The case does show wear that is commensurate with age. The 1116/548 bracelet is correct for this reference and has more than enough length for my 7.25" wrist. It even has plenty of room to spare as I wear it four micro adjust holes in from the edge of the clasp. Back to the watch- the crystal is signed, intact, clean and in great shape. If anything, the crystal could benefit from a slight polish. The black dial is beautiful and well preserved. Any shadows seen in the outdoor wrist shots are just that- shadows from the superficial marks on the crystal. The outer white tachymetre ring is well preserved and has a lovely almost parchment tone to it. The original tritium lume on the dial and hands is intact and has patinated to a beautiful soft custard color that is really pleasing to look at. The crown and movement wind smoothly and the pushers have a pleasing tactile action when pressed. That is everything I can think of but if you have any questions, please do ask.
145.016 -68 & 1116/548 I am asking $4,000
145.016 -68 only I am asking $3,400
While I do prefer a sale, I would entertain trades from established members.
The watch and myself are located in Northern California. I am offering free shipping within the conus and at cost beyond that. Payment can be made through (Transfer)Wise or Zelle. Returns are not accepted unless the watch has been grossly misrepresented.

Now for the plethora of photos. I did my best to showcase this piece in all of its beauty. All of these photos were taken with my phone and can be opened in new windows for better resolution. If there is anything I failed to capture please let me know and I will photograph it for you.
If you made it this far, as always, thank you for looking and for OF for creating this space.
