HOWEVER, if your bias is to wear your watches first and foremost as opposed to pure collecting, get a 5513. It's the definitive timeless and handsomest watch there is that can be worn in any circumstance. Some will argue that you can do the same with the Speedmaster but those people don't like to get wet!![]()
I respectfully disagree. There is no one watch that can be worn in any circumstance. A tool watch is not a dress watch, even a tool watch that's small by current standards.
My suggestion to the OP is to pick whichever appeals as a watch for casual to semiformal occasions. Look at them both on your wrist and decide.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry ... I'm currently looking for a 145.022 or 5513 right now. I've put feelers out everywhere I know over the last few weeks. If you find a good one you don't want, let me know ... and I'll reciprocate. 馃槈
Keep up the search, as it better to wait anfor spend more on a great example than to rush and get a mediocre one.
You want a 145.012....that has the 321.
Chrono24...better to search on watchrecon, here, and ebay...Chrono24 is a crapshoot.
Wait a second...there is a dealer with a 145.022 with a 321 in it??? It should have a 861...
