Length of an original Ultraman Trotteuse

Note the difference in length...

Cheers

Furthermore the case and the casebook are well worn and unfortunately the date on the band's clasp
is not visible on the original post...

As noted orange hand is the wrong length.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I was under the impression that an extract for a legitimate Ultraman would reference “Special Equipment,” or that an orange sweep hand had been fitted.

That is correct!

Extracts are not exactly proof on these for various reasons.

FWIW, this one is currently up for sale on Yahoo Japan. IMO pretty scruffy lume plots, a mediocre bezel, and you still won’t get much change from $50k. But it does have an extract that mentions the orange sweep hand.

What do you guys think about this one? It’s in the serial range, but the one photo doesn’t show very well the length of the Chrono hand.

I've already posted about some of the watches for sale right now from Speedmaster101 over at speedmastersales.com in another thread, but I am amazed that some are still available... including a really nice ultraman with extract.

The orange hand is not long enough to be an original Ultra-Man.

Yeah, I’ve been watching that auction also. IMO the sweep hand isn’t long enough. I’ll be interested to see if the bidding goes nuts as people think that they have stumbled across an unadvertised Ultraman.

Here are a few more photos of the same watch I posted earlier. On Ultraman, the Chrono hand is supposed to extend about halfway up into the minute hash marks, correct? Or is it supposed to extend past them?

Same, I'm quite surprised that a lot of them are still available.

Not that I'm in the market for one of these, but if I was, I'd look no further than this Ultraman with correct notes in the remarks section of the extract from our very own @Spacefruit. Additionally if you're in the market for an uncommon reference like a vintage Ultraman, I highly recommend researching an immense amount. There are plenty of great sources but this page of Speedmaster101 would be my jumping off point, as it will definitely help you avoid some of the cobbled together examples that are out there.
