··not the sharpest pencil in the ΩF drawerI edited my original post. Price is indeed including premium
I watched, but take a look at the photos of same watch offered by Sothebys in November or so. Much more revealing, and the top pusher tube looks replaced....
Not bad, but I don’t think it was a steal.
Don’t have a table of Sommatore sales handy, but have a vague recollection of one with a poor dial selling a year or so back for 20 plus. I recognize they are a grail for many, I bemoan not buying one years ago for a song when I had the opportunity, and I certainly was watching it with some interest. I didnt have chance to see more detailed photos of the dial and pusher, but for me the condition suggested a healthy discount. Do you know where the bidding stalled in November?
A totally fake 13zn has just been sold on Ebay from Switzerland.
Nothing seems to be correct on this watch.
But what really confuses me is the movement - I saved a screenshot
I wasn't aware that there are already "clones" of 13zn movements in existence 🤦
What are your thoughts? Has anybody of you more information about these, where do they come from?
Stay healthy!
I think before jumping to conclusions it may be worth it to run this by Longines Brand Heritage to get an idea of the year and what type of watch this movement was in. The serial suggests that this is an extremely late 13ZN. I have a 30CH with a serial below that one. I also think this may be a pieced together movement which was stripped and then recoated or painted silver
I think many people will be looking at this thread in the future.
To codify the learning experience for 13zn collectors, including myself, could you (@Radiumpassion and @divetime ) explain what makes the movement fake? As opposed to just missing parts?
I have not said it's fake. I think it has a weird finish if you see my comparison above. And read offcourse...
