1171 Bracelet - advice please

Hi OF,
I'm about to send off my Speedy for a service and I'm wondering if the bracelet needs to go too? I've had my Speedy 8 years and never worn it with the 1171 bracelet that it came with. I haven't asked for the watch to be polished so assume it'll just receive a "bath" to clean it before it's rebuilt. My bracelet doesn't have any dirt or grime on it so assume it was cleaned before I purchased it. Should I send both together so I don't end up with mismatched watch/bracelet? It just seems there's not much to be done with the bracelet and I'd rather not risk loosing it in the post along with the watch. Also, I'd like to send it on my rally strap so that they can see an issue I'm having with that, and possibly sort it, seeing as it's the one I use with the Speedy.
I've added the images below as I believe this shows how much stretch is in my bracelet. Could the experts advise on the condition of my bracelet specifically regarding the amount of stretch. Would this be considered an excellent, good, average, poor or very poor bracelet.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.
Regards,

CH

Keep your trapezoid recessed logo 1171 at home and if it needs clean you can do that yourself. It will match just right, believe me.

If you are sending your watch to Omega for service and assuming that they won't polish it unless you ask, you are making a mistake. In fact, they may polish it even if you tell them not to. Omega's goal when servicing a watch is to restore it to factory specifications to the extent possible and return the watch to you in as nearly new condition as is possible. As such, if your watch case has any scratches, blemishes, etc., Omega WILL polish it. Generally they do a good job at polishing, but inevitably some metal will be removed in the process. If you don't want your watch polished, DO NOT send it to Omega.

Hi gbesq, I learnt quickly, from members of this forum, never send a watch to Omega for a service. It's going to Simon Freese here in the UK. Thanks, CH

Thanks MikiJ. Okay, I'll just send with the rally strap I think.

Your bracelet looks fine to me. Don't lose those spare links, they are priceless.

Thanks Dennis. They have been carefully stored away for the last 8 years. I'm putting them back now. The Speedy does look good with the 1171 bracelet though.

Can somebody advise how much insurance cover I need for shipping? Or how much would it cost to replace my watch at today's values should it be lost in the post? Thanks.

I suppose it depends on how honest you want to be.
You should easily be able to pick up a comparable watch head for 5k or less, but you could pay more for insurance and claim it was a 105.003 if it gets lost.😁

Lol, I'll be honest as I'd just want to replace with another '76 as it's my birth year so I'll insure at £5k. It's a minefield out there so buying another one will be a huge PITA. Hopefully it doesn't get lost/damaged in transit.
