Seriously cool watches, and going up in value as well. I nearly bought a mint condition Autavia for $500 about 4 years ago but passed on it for a 2225.80 Seamaster, not sure what they're worth exactly now but I'm pretty sure $500 doesn't even come close

In todays money the words mint and Autavia do not equal $500, more like 4 times that for an entry level reference. It is the vintage Heuer model that has greatest appeal and with a production period of 20 years and many different models and sizes to choose from its inevatable that there is at least one that will suit almost everybody. My current favourite is the first execution 2446 with large sub registers and dauphine hands. The case is 39mm and a perfect fit for my wrist. As we have seen with other brands and desirable models eg Sub Mariner, Speedmaster etc, first executions eventually rise to the top and thats exactly whats happened to this one but only over the past 12 months or so. This is another illustration of where Heuer is going and quality vintage watches in general.
regards
Paul

Mine was considered expensive when I bought it (as I wrote earlier - circa 5 years ago) but I am a card carrying member of the "condition, condition, condition"-church and follwed one of the principal commands - and as time has gone by - everything has turned out OK...😉

There are buys out there. I purchased this Viceroy last month for $130 all original except the bracelet clasp and crown.

No I found it in a small collectables shop while visiting family in North Carolina.
