Can I get some learned opinions on the originality of this Autavia Ref.73663 please.

Valjoux 7736

I cannot find a similar example of this dial & hand configuration, being white hands, orange chrono sweep, no colour on the hour plots, a well wrist polished KAF 441 on the case back and a serial of 201 101 between the lugs.

When charged under UV light the hands take between 3-4 min to fully discharge - Looking at the hands I have put this down to possibly just phosphor reserves on the sizeable hands real estate or a great aged relume job? However, I have seen 100% original chunky Flightmaster hands with extended lume times and have put this down to the phosphor excited by sunlight or UV light. Thoughts on the handset?

I would really appreciate some thoughts and opinions on this watch

Thanks in advance.

Here’s one I had many moons ago

Yes that looks like the one I have. The hour markers seem not to be faded but just the patina of the tritium and not coloured. Was the chrhono sweep hand more orange than the red reflected in the photo?

I think this:

is a faded version of this:

I believe, if memory serves me correctly, that they were called “Shauntavia’s”. The chronograph hand was a more orange colour than the red in the picture.

Pinched this photo from Sabiwatches but shows a super sharp one for comparison. Your one seems fine, just nicely aged,
Really nice, comfortable watches to wear
