That is VERY COOL!
What was the reason for such a big watch way back then? Surely it had a purpose.
How often do these come up?
Has one ever sold on here?
What is the value (all I have seen are auctions at big houses which I don't trust LOL)
I am as puzzled as you. More than $10k I think.
Paying for it is no problem if I find one that truly sings to me....
My vintage interests lay more in sports watches BUT despite having 6.8 in wrists I like watches from 40-44 mm. Bigger is just too much for my wrist....
Something like this surely had to have some purpose as that was HUGE for a watch back then,
Big vintage that is not a recased pocket watch really interests me!
Seamaster Chronostop 1968 Mexico (ref. 145.007/145.008 with second crown for the inner bezel) case width without crown 41mm
or a 145.0040 Speedmaster Professional (Teutonic) has 43mm without crown
and a pity that you barred the Flightmasters from your list, great timepieces (43mm w/o crown)
in 41mm a 166.072 Seamaster Memomatic
