so if caseback and strap is “007 crap all over it”, what do you call this?

I think @jcmartinez98 summed it up pretty well.

What I don't understand is the blogs and press stating that 'for the first time, you can buy the watch he wears in the film '

Every movie up until this one you could buy the watch, because he actually wore a watch... I thought that was the whole idea...
Interesting that the projected price is going to be less than the current SM300, likely reflecting USD strength vs CHF

It's also interesting to hear the conflicting views of collectors (particularly ones who have a preference for vintage models) and more general buyers. I mean absolutely no disrespect by this, but by General buyers, I'm meaning guys who probably have one or two modern watches, aren't active on forums and wouldn't list watches or horology as a hobby.

Anyway, many of the former seem very please with the fact that the lollipop second hand has been reintroduced, while looking at Omegas Facebook, I notice that many of the later think it's a horrible change.

My source passes on the following... "7007 pieces, $7500 USD, comes on strap and with bracelet. Lollipop hand is going to be a gadget in the movie (first time Bond will wear a limited edition)".

Is it possible the 0 represents 12:00AM in 24 hour format? i.e. 00:00
Sure but a little useless without the rest of the 24 hour lineup.

Most likely it's just a countdown of sorts..is so not very subtle or secret but hey, it's pretty!

My son has a spiderman watch with a Web thrower...or had one.

I looked at the standard SM300 and SPECTRE SM300 side by side in photos and I really like the dial on the SPECTRE edition more than on the standard SM300. The larger name and logo just looks good to me. But at the same time I much prefer the standard bezel and second-hand. The GMT bezel is neat, but for the SM300 it should always be a divers bezel.

For as many strides as Omega has made over the last 10 years and for as many things that they do right, this nonstop limited edition nonsense (that really aren't "limited" at all) and uncontrollable urge to just saturate their lineup really makes me wonder if they will ever get a grasp on "who they are" as a brand.

Well to me it fucks up the whole watch. The larger 12 o'clock triangle is iconic to divers and the bezel is just neither a diver, nor a gmt; t's useless. In that sense the watch is just a mess. Pitty because the lollipop and the lume are great. To me that Omega logo makes a watch into a billboard. You're no longer wearing a great diver by omega, you're wearing omega. And not a.dkver, nor a gmt, nor a classic or a modern watch, just a silly photo shoot product

That's some strong opinion whiskey you are offering again. But this time, I think I'll take a little snifter with you 😉

With respect, I was not trying to convince anyone to adopt my opinion. I said "The larger name and logo just looks good to me."

I gotta go with @Nobel Prize on this one - new 'LE' to me is a mess - the pinnacle of design by the marketing department - and I love your suit (side tabs, no belt ? Excellent ... And great lapels ) but for me a NATO and a suit might look 'OK' but it just sets off style alarm bells in my head. Tried it, had to turn around and go back to change ( the watch, not the suit ) as it felt too 'affected' ... Just my opinion

Sorry. I didn't mean to offend anyone or contradict you, just used your statement as a starting point to mine. My post is also just my opinion not dogma.

I respect your opinion. But styles do change over time. Here is my thought on the matter. For example, white after Labor day is no longer a faux pas and has not been one for some time now. The NATO strap with a suit is one that I choose to adopt. Another example is Sean Connery's James Bond. He wore these straps on his 6538 with a suit first in 1964 in Goldfinger. Granted that is a movie. But the fact is, entertainment and all it encompasses does maneuver styles and establish new standards or rules. And a lot of people do adopt some of these changes.

The only thing I do that many here on OF will think is odd if wearing my NATO while wearing a suit. For everything else I choose to maintain a standard that I set for myself which parallels the classic men's fashion.

As well you should. It's fashionable now to wear suits with no socks. It used to be to wear suits and sneakers...I wear my bracelets and tattoos no matter what I'm wearing. But why make a logo like that one and issue a faux bezel when the watch could have a normal divers bezel or a gmt function ( which would make it truly different while still retaining horologicaly sense, a little like the Rolex gmt is on a diver case and style...that I may have bought) and that Logo just makes no sense at that size....it's too much. I love the omega logo and Iove omega but one off the things I liked is the bespoke quakity of some of its designs while retaining quality and usefulness.

Other aspects of the piece I like.

While we differ on the size of the name, I do agree that the bezel on the LE needs to be changed to the appropriate bezel for an SM300 or else add a GMT hand and the name to the dial.
