Oh right. I didn't realize it was just a LE list....although he does say it is but why read when I can just look at pictures right? 😀

I don't like Bond LE. I think the watches are great as they are and don't need gimmicks. I do suppose the bezel change is for some gadget...I think it may be good if they made a GMT version of that watch as well come to think about it

Had a surprising/dissapointing experience in the Leeds Boutique today.

I went in and asked about the Bond 300 and was shown the Aqua Terra. I said sorry but there is a new one based on the 300 master and was told, in no uncertain terms, that I was wrong and the Aqua terra was the Bond watch. Finally after persuading them to look on line, we found it. Surely in a bloody boutique they should know about new releases before the customers?!

I then asked if it would be possible to get the lollipop second hand put on the standard version as I don't like the Bond branding. As expected, they said probably not and to be fair, I can see why they wouldn't do this. however, they were very pushy and said if I want I the lollipop Bond edition I'd better put a deposit down now as it will sell out straight away. They didn't even know it existed two minutes ago!

Have to say they were pretty poor in there today. Didn't know about this new watch and generally weren't very accommodating. I was in Glasgow a few weeks ago and had a different experience entirely. The salesman was nice, polite, happy to chat about watches and didn't give me the hard sell.

Well, I'll be buying the 300 Master coax in the next 6 months or so, and if I go down the Boutique route, I know which one it will be.

@Nobel Prize the Skyfall AT was't a LE.. it was just his watch.

The Skyfall LE was the Aston Martin grill PO, and the Bond 50 SMP also released that year.

This is really well done, Thanks... Reminds me why I have none of them though... But I do (did) have every one of the actual watches worn in his movies...no '007' markings...

This Spectre comes as a bit of a surprise... as he normally wears a watch, not a product in the films...

I can understand that the logo would have to be bigger to be identified on screen, but to have him wear the LE seems wrong...

You would think that they would sell a lot more than 7007 SM300 had they just used the traditional watch on screen. There are rumors of 3 bond watches..the Aqua terra MC 41mm (likely opening sequence) -- ( I would have suspected standard Blue, God help us, hopefully not the family crest one LE one)...This one... and ?? I may bet that the Standard SM300 is still used, and this LE may involve a gadget of some kind, given to him by Q in a scene that will piss off every Rolex owner in the world..

Of course it could be a 3rd LE that gets featured...::facepalm1::
I did quote on one of these threads that Omega would have Bond wear a different watch In every scene if they could have their way but I was being sarcastic. If they do feature three watches in the film I will be so glad I went for the standard sm300 mc. At least it be less numerous than the limited editions that Omega are pumping out wholesale.
They will soon have a limited edition bond watch where he's taking a shit called the 002 brown edition!

Thanks @Lou P ; I'm not into the Bond watches enough to have done the homework, but I have wanted to find a "Omega Bond watches for Dummies" and you delivered. I'm in the minority, depending on the case back for the LE SM300, I like it.

Don't blame the boutique.... blame corporate for lack of organizational product flow-down and leaking watches to the press before they even brief their own staff. The only reason my local boutique knew about the LE SM300 is they follow the Omega Instagram account, but still ABTW had additional details not shared by Omega directly. Bizarre.

You seem to be right. The boutique next to my place got the infos right after the press/twitter/instagram send it on air. That's a quite poor way to keep their staffs informed.

I agree with @repoman .... When I'm getting PM'd on instagram from Boutique staff for info on models...something is wrong.

But back to the Bond issue... forgive my obsessive compulsiveness, but it did get me through school...

Everyone at Omega is very tight lipped... I would still think that having him wear a Limited edition watch as the bond watch would be a mistake...shooting themselves in the foot. the SMP (Brosnan Bond) sold so well just on the wings of James Bond. And only subtle differences were made over the years, but it was still 'James Bond's watch'... This started my collection... if only 7000 had been made, I would have never started down this road...

I still think that the standard SM300 will somehow morph, or be traded for the LE Spectre at some point in the film, giving us the rumored 3 omegas..
Akin to offering the Rolex submariner Buzz-saw bezel from Live and Let Die... or a light up World is not enough model...

Now this is not a set photo, but it was taken while in Rome for filming...

Clearly not the LE spectre...

I'm really not sure how I feel about this... I love seeing the watches on film, and I love the Omega tie-ins, and delight in that one gratuitous focus on his wrist watch scene... but I hope they don't push it too far to the point that people are turned off.

From reading these threads (and others like it) my impression always is that they already have....

It seems to me that there are three options:
One is to make a "Bond" watch, which, as someone pointed out in another thread, is like selling the suit that he was in the movie but with "Bond" emblazoned across the back. Been there done that, as nicely recapped by @Lou P

The other is to make a special watch that Bond wears in the movie, and then sell that watch as a limited edition, which it seems is what they're doing with this new big logo SM 300. I think this is actually a pretty interesting approach. This would still give Bond lovers what they want, but for many others it would remove the "gimmick factor" of little guns on second hands, etc. that prevents them from even remotely considering purchase.

And finally, what I wish they would do, which is just to have him wear a cool new watch and let that alone promote the sale of that particular model, no LE. Like letting that bond film be the "Basel" for that reference.

Maybe this special seamaster will take part in a charity auction again.
They did it with a titanium PO in Skyfall. And the LE came with different dial and gun logo at 7 o'clock.

As we await the new case back, I've put together Rev 2 of the "Omega Bond LE watches for Dummies", this time with case backs! The sequence is identical to the dial side array, so I decided not to clutter it up by re-naming them.

Note that for the mid-sized 50th Anniversary I couldn't find an image from the correct model and so I cheated and just shrunk down the full sized back . I realize the aspect ratio look is probably quite wrong....

I'm glad at least a few folks here have appreciated this...and of course I understand it will be more dart board material for most. 😀

But even on the pic from super doc it doesn't seem to have the fake patina....

It's supposed to be ... Dunno why it has a zero instead of a 12 tho ... Especially as they killed the 12 on the dial with the massive Omega logo... Only thing I really like about this is the lollipop hand -> overall disappointed

Is it possible the 0 represents 12:00AM in 24 hour format? i.e. 00:00

but plastering all that 'Spectre' and '007' crap all over it just ruins it.

Where is the that crap you speak of? I could not find any logo's on this watch.

Yes, that's how you represent midnight on a 24 hour format. 23:59-->00:00

Yes it has to be, I just thought it looked weird - it's very unusual

I think it is creative because it is different. But ultimately, I prefer the divers bezel. It just looks more appropriate.
