Need to see this one on my wrist. I like the colors and the fact that it’s not limited

Seems to be a good job, apart from the fake aged tritium (IMO)

I was literally thinking, if only there was a Revival that had the three different colours as well...

Next I'll think a big pot of money to buy it with, and hopefully that will materialise too!!

Beautiful, one of my grails (with the A386)! Great that they kept the diameter on the reasonable side and not go to "clock" sizes!

I think it's looks incredible. Zenith really did an amazing job with these re-issues.

Still prefer the original, but if I didn't already have one I'd definitely pick one up.

Like you, I also prefer the original but the really nice ones are beyond my reach. For that reason, I could settle for the next best thing.

Hmm. I am philosophically opposed to 1:1 reissues, or even most “heritage” models, but this is one of my favorite EPs and I have not been able to find a decent vintage one at a reasonable price, so I may to try one of these on soon to see if it scratches the itch.

A very nice re-release that pays tribute to the original!
Now, the real question that I've been unable to confirm since they started doing these re-releases is, does the new bracelet fit the vintage models?

Can I ask why you are opposed to 1:1 reissues?

gorgeous, but as the watch is such a faithful copy,
the second chronograph register should be
more of a robin's egg blue.

Also referred to as French racing blue. I'm a real fan of that blue hand on the vintage model.

The A3817 is commonly seen with that shade of blue and also a dark navy blue. For the A3817 Revival it seems the designers settled on a shade in between.

Well, I believe in progress and avoiding the pitfalls of nostalgia. Looking back to "the great days of the past" and trying to re-live them is a failure of imagination and an unwillingness to do the harder work of improving our present and future. So, while re-issues sometimes appeal to me on a gut level--why wouldn't they? I like the originals!--I am intellectually opposed as a rule to the concept of regurgitating the past. Not limited to watches, btw. Feel the same about cars, motorcycles, interior design, etc.... I know that's just me and don't begrudge others who buy these...

I am so glad Zenith is doing this. I missed the cover girl and that was one of the biggest mistake for me. Can’t wait to get this new reissue.

Thanks for your nuanced response! I don't quite always agree, but I think you expressed your viewpoint very well.

I'm on the fence for this new release. I think I like my Shadow Revival case/dial a little bit more, but I wish I had a bracelet option. I'm debating trying to trade in my Shadow for the 3817.

You don’t love your shadow? I’ve come THIS close to pulling the trigger on one many times.
