Overall, its a great watch and I would support anyone who would want to get it. I guess I just keep hoping Zenith will at some point get their design-innovation department to catch up to their technical-innovation department. There is only so long you can re-hash 50 year old designs and/or copy the Rolex Daytona.
I mean, I could appreciate if they had made the modern version better than the vintage version or at least as good. But I can't say that they did. For one, as already pointed out, the bracelet is the same (or virtually the same) as the one they use on the 38mm tri color... No ladder... nothing new or unique... kinda boring. No paddle on the chrono hand is a key styling point on the watch. There is a reason why other brands like Omega have brought this back in the 300 and kept it with Speedy (I get the argument that its a 1/10th of second and that the paddle would look funny flying around... but (i) no it wouldn't and (ii) who really cares about the 1/10th function? I'd rather have style ... miss. Non-domed crystal... big miss. I think the dial is too white. Should have been cream or perhaps even textured.... miss. It just feels a bit lazy to me in the styling department.
Perhaps I'm splitting hairs?
