Zenith 18 K Gold ? signed on the back case ‘Film Festival Cannes 1959’ with caliber 71, original dial ?

The dial is, in my opinion, original. Shame about the slight rotation of the star. This is an interesting watch... I don’t believe I’ve seen a white-dial version of the deluxe cal 71 Captain (see below) before. Correct crown too.

Thanks yes the star is rotated a little I never saw a luxury Captain with a white dial either looks fine to me let’s see how the bidding goes it is not on eBay

The inscription is intriguing. If genuine (and I suspect it is) it adds a bit of mystery to the watch. Was it given to a director? Movie star? It is pretty cool.

That engraving is very cool! 1959 was only the 12th year of the festival!

Yes the inscription from the Filmfestival in Cannes 1950 makes it even more special I am still in the run it is still 4 days to go end of auction famous movie stars - and directors at that time, the glory days of filming !

After a closer look, it’s interesting that the case is plated on the back as well but no mark to indicate the thickness. Beautiful dial though

I suspect it didn’t really sell the first time.
Actually I believe it sold, the seller on eBay is a Dealer that is also on OF if you look at the Background of the pictures.😗
