I loves me a watch obsessive!
I owe you a massive debt of gratitude for helping me find and get mine, even people who know nothing about Zenith love how it looks and I get comments like "I love how these days watches are getting more colourful and interesting" from people that don't know its half a century old. Such a cool piece and just so quintessentially Zenith at its aesthetic best.

Thanks @Mlafra, I see both of the same items you mention in Mk 1 vs Mk 2/3 (including the sub-production batches within Mk 3).
The only other difference that jumps out to me is that the service hands have more defined edges (around the lume there seems to be a slight different).
I'll add that as another section hopefully in the next week or so. I have the pics, just need to arrange in a way that will be easy for people to digest.

I forgot to add...
If anyone has an Extract with the production/sale date, would be great to see what dates Zenith has provided. I have just a few verified dates from Extracts and I'll start adding if I can get some.
FYI, Zenith has reduced the price of their Extracts.

That info help me too when I was trying to find one.

I ordered four extracts a couple of months ago, and now have the results (De Luca, Sub Sea, ...).

if I ask for the A386 extract (I will do an extract or a full inspection) I will be happy to contribute

This is a great work, and the price trend is very interesting.

Are you planning to expand you work to other watches?

Very very good work. One thing that I see missing and that I think would be very interesting to add for completeness is regarding the main hour and minute hands.
Hour and minute hands on MKI are slightly different to later MKII or MKIII iterations.
Specifically, in MKI H and M hands the white plastic "structure" of the hands that contains the lume and the black tip is thinner compared to later executions H and M hands. Moreover, and more noticeable, the white spacing between the black tip and the lume part of the hands is much thinner in MKI hands compared to later ones. I found this is pretty much always the case for all correct MKIs.
I believe that in the rare cases where you see a MKI with original and correct hands for a MKII or MKIII (thicker white structure and thicker white spacing between black tip and lume portion) this is probably the result of original service hands replaced to the watch.
I've now updated to add (well, did a while ago, but forgot to share here!) :whipped:
