A vid on youtube discussing T. E. Lawrence's watch is up. As much as I like Paul Newman, I can't imagine his Daytona remotely in the same league with regard to historical desirability.

Interesting video. Quite fitting with Omega’s military connections. He also had good taste in motorcycles. Think he owned quite a few Brough Superiors

Seven Pillars of Wisdom... on a Brough Superior SS100... I visited some of the places where this amazing officer & gentleman was in action...
Ending in Wareham - Dorset to see his effigy

And of course, at St. Paul's. During a short layover at Heathrow returning from Africa last year, I took the Underground into London specifically to see Eric Kennington's memorial bust in the crypt.

I needed special permission to photograph it and was escorted to the dark corner where this amazing bust stands a bit to high up on a wall
There's also a bust at Oxford and at Cloud's Hill nearby Bovington camp

Yes, it is difficult to get a good selfie with this one due to its placement.

Here is his face carved in stone at Wadi Rum, Jordan, where he was operational for a while. Scenes from the film were also made here: it is an extraordinarily wild and beautiful place.

Do you know if these were done at the time or afterwards as a 'tourist destination'?

I was in Wadi Rum this time last year. Extraordinary place. Jordan on the whole is breathtaking. I was meant to be in Oman a few weeks ago as well :(

They certainly do play up the Lawrence of Arabia connection for the tourists...
