The case of this Mark III has horizontal or circular brushing finish instead of the classic sunburst finish.
I read that both case finishes should be correct.
Aren’t they?

I believe both finishes are correct. Check out https://www.calibre1040.com/ if you haven’t already - lots of research on there. Mine arrives tomorrow - exciting!

Ha, yes! The best thing about it is that’s already got a dent in the case I think (bought it at auction and the photos weren’t the best), so I won’t have to worry about denting it. Trying to build a collection of different generation Speedmaster, but ones I can use rather than pristine ones.

Well, I paid £1500 for mine including the auction fees. Needs a new crystal, and probably a service. Some examples seem to be around £3000 on Chrono24, but as others have observed, sale prices may be considerably lower.

What bracelet is this? It is not the classic 1162/172.

1159, so perhaps not correct? Perhaps I’ll swap it to my Mark II, which I think has a bracelet from a Ploprof.

I have 1159/154 (20mm end links) on my Mark2 first serie 1969, and It can go later also with 1162/154.
I think that the right bracelets for Mark3 are 1162/172 (22mm) and Hozer/Mexico 22mm.
