Same here, one of those “ Ahh that’s why they got mentioned so much over the years “
Would have chased one years ago if I had of known how comfortable they were.

Going to be my go to thing when it gets too humid for leather in my neck of the woods. 👍

I bought mine w horned ends, wanting to use it on my Speedy. It’s still in the box; I’m disappointed at the bracelet’s narrow width and, to my eyes, awkward resolution at the end links. @pcdubc , I will say yours looks really good, actually. Nonetheless, I may go @VetPsychWars direction and seek a refund, or just keep it and wait for a nice 36-38mm watch to pair it with.

Just for my information please, what do you mean by "awkward resolution at the end links"?

I had the same disappointment with it at first on my Speedy- it looked like a lollipop (I know, that’s the “look”, but just not for me) But the quality of the bracelet itself is excellent. As posted earlier in the thread, I tried it on a few other 60’s era watches (yes, smaller case size) and found it paired very well with many. It currently lives on a 60’s 38mm chrono and looks great.

The horned ends are designed, I think, to mimic the curvature of the round faced watch. They don’t really, IMO, it seems a matter of too little too late. The end links should be about twice as deep as they are and offer a more emphatic “curve.” Anyway, the ones posted on Speedys here look good, so maybe it’s just me (and @JwRosenthal !)

Don’t throw in the towel on the bracelet yet- try it with a few other vintage pieces and you may be pleasantly surprised. Once you get used to the fiddly nature of the clasp it becomes a breeze, and is incredibly comfortable.

Should I opt for horn or straight ends? Looking to eventually put this on a FOIS.

In terms of authenticity, we've seen photos from the 60s here (see NASA archives thread) showing both types. And new pictures of both types abound so you can see what it'll look like. Ultimately it's down to your personal preference. I bought the straight style for my FOIS before the horned was even announced, so I didn't have to make the choice and not sure which I would choose if I had to do it all over again. I have enough self-control not to buy another.

I have the horned and am quite happy with the look and feel. As above, looks like both versions were used back in the ‘60s, so comes down to personal preference...

Forstner bracelet fitted today.
It's not often I get excited about much at all these days but I love this.
Purchased from https://www.vintagespeedmaster.com/watch-parts

I bought the original length (longest one) and adjusted down to my 18.5cm wrist. See pic.

Well chuffed.
Thanks Darren!
Yeah, I think I like the looks of the horned better than the strait I got (which was all there was when I bought it)....harumph! 😒

So, it purely comes down to aesthetics? There's no risk of one option rubbing against the case or anything like that?

I did not like mine.

It pulled out arm hairs, was a little difficult to put on and did not feel good on my wrist.

To each her own.
