Hi all,

I have been on the hunt for a 36mm Seamaster. I came across this one and was hoping to seek the advice of this forum before offering. Seller is claiming unpolished, all original except for a NOS replacement crystal. Watch had a full service in January 2020.

Asking price is $1500 USD.

Thanks in advance and stay safe.

Looks nice in my opinion, case looks very sharp. I have doubts about the crystal. I don’t think it came like that with the cyclops. Also, the hands (particularly the minute and second hand) seem to have some type of discoloration, could be caused by moisture, so I’d definitely ask for a movement shot. As for the price, I’m not sure whether it’s worth it, I’ll let others be the judge of that. One more important thing to look for is whether the rotor rubs the inside of the caseback. These caliber 564 movements seem to have a habit of rotor ‘rub’ when not properly taken care of.

I’ve had the 18k version and from what I could tell back then, the chronometer seamaster 168.022 are uncommon.

I have a few of these and I love them. Great watches and still a bargain considering how much everything else costs. I can say that the bracelet and end links are between $500 to $700 so if the watch is serviced then it is not a bad deal. Like other people mentioned the hands don't look that great.

Price seems way too high imo. I'd maybe pay ~$850, maximum.

That would be an extremely low price, IMO.

Apart from the slight aging of the hands and the circular brushing on the dial as opposed to the sparkle finish, this is as good as you can get with this late sixties Omega.

Steel case in great shape, dial without blemishes, cal. 564 instead of 751, unabused bracelet, serviced... $1500 may be slightly expensive, but I would in no way be surprised to see it go for that amount of money.

Beautiful watch!

The watch looks very good and well preserved. A check of the movement and I say about $1000 is fair for this one. I wouldn´t be surprised if it goes higher than that.

The pics are poor imo and someone asking that price should be providing high quality pictures and detailed description.

Although not stupidly so, i agree it's overpriced

I think that because the dial is unblemished, the case retains all of its finishes (man that thing is sharp and it still has the radial brushed bezel and the linear brushed case), and the bracelet is in such good shape, the premium you would be paying for is condition, condition, condition. OEM crystal can be had- that’s a no brainer. Yes the price is high, but they really don’t get better for this reference.

The seller has provided pics of the movement (pre and post service) as well as the caseback.

Please buy this watch, and if you aren’t going to- let us know where it is so someone here can pick it up.
