Can you explain a bit? Interesting story..

As a kid I would always save my birthday and Christmas money (Luckily I have a large family so I got $20 bills from more aunt and uncles than the average kid), However, I never liked to spend my money. When I became interested in watches because my dad and my uncles all wore Rolex or Omega I got into learning about the watches they owned and I learned that you can buy certain watches today for a price and sell it a few years later for the same price or very close to. So I decided that having a nice watch to wear (which would retain its value) is better than just hiding money under my mattress. Man am I glad I came to that realization!
