You are standing there telling your friends you nailed a girl for 4 hours solid while she is standing behind you the whole time shaking her head. When you are done she says 4 minutes max, turns around and leaves you standing there......it happened to a friend of mine.
You ask for watch advice for (or relay an embarrassing story about) a "friend" .

You shake an old Omega like a pair of maracas in order to find out if it is a bumper

...if you post saying a watch movement looks OK only to have Archer point out several obvious flaws.

Hey, you aren't a noob man! If you look at Speedmaster movements as much as I do, things like rusted parts, broken springs, and paperclips used as minute recorder jumpers just jump out at you. 😉

You still wonder why people on this forum like transitionals so much and are willing
to pay good money for one.

The title of thread says "Noob" not "n00b".
Are you calling the OP a "Noob" or n00b"?
🙄

I always thought it was "Newbie".

Or is the Americanisation of our language starting to take a toll on correctness?

If you try to remove the caseback on a frontloader.....
If you try to pull the crown out to set the time on a lever set pocketwatch......
If you snap the fork off your Bergeon springbar tool being a little aggressive....
If you forgetfully handle movements without cots......

If you give others advice without knowing what you are talking about....

If you pop open a pre-'60's vintage and finger the radium dial or blow 'dust' off of it at the same time you're eating your finger-lickin' good chicken wings!

If this thread was a face to face group conversation you'd be the person smiling and laughing along when you have no idea what most of you are talking about.

That brings forward the painful memory, when you were threatening me, that you should use your Geiger counter on a watch that I was trying to lure you to buy, and you said was relumed for sure... 😬

THAT made me feel like a n00b 😁
