A friend asked me how many did I own. I couldn't answer accurately.

Roasted Speedmaster with herbs. Yum!

Predominantly thyme, of course.

When the value of your watch parts is worth more than a near mint 2998.

It starts in numbers then the next stage is quality you can not afford.
You have been warned 😀

I think I need to go cold turkey. That little voice is screaming at me today.

That worked for me...for about a week.

Honestly, for me I would say 3-5 watches is enough. Any more than that and either I spend too much time trying to decide which one to wear, or the unworn ones just stay unworn collecting dust.

I wished I have more self control ...

When you say, "This is the last one, then I am definitely done for a while" and the next day your wearing that "last one" and you're back on the net looking at more........!

Too many?
When my watchbox/safe bursts.....
No real idea what the notion of "too many" boils down to.
Having nowhere near unlimited resources I have an idea that too many is reached when you don't care about the role of a certain watch in the collection, and still does not bother to move it on.

No sure I understand. Do you mean 2 dozen too many, 2 score too many or 200 too many? Give us some kind of number we can relate to here😕

I feel about watches the way Billy Idol felt about MTV.

Your photos of the 5513 in another thread have got me looking at them now! ::facepalm1:: My rule right now is if I am going to get something else, then one from my current rotation has to go.

I rent some space in my jewellers safe and I drop off boxes on them from time to time. I went in to get a watch a while ago and he brought out a box of some pieces and I said "This is someone else's box, these are not mine" to which he replied "You're the only person who I do this for, here look this is your Seamaster that I found a buckle for..."

That's when I knew I had too many, I hadn't seen them in a year and forgot about them.

Haha its ok rules are meant to be broken...

What will happen is you get one before selling one... then decide later on not to sell the one you're supposed to sell 😀

When I look at the day's sales offerings and get no reaction without taking a Viagra.
(BTW this has not yet happened).

I have way too many watches now. I know this to be true because I have watches that are worn 1-3 times per year. These will be sold. I feel comfortable having about 3 watches that I wear on a regular basis. The two Ploprofs, the Seiko 5, and the Skyfall. And one dress watch, maybe two, as one is gold and one is blue faced.

I am talking about all watches but my Speedmasters. Let the record show that this does not apply to Speedmasters. You can never have too many Speedmasters.
