Glad I could be of assistance. Not many have those custom avatar messages - they're earned because of some behavior (good or bad 😜).

I love it. I'm one of the elite few with a custom avatar message. Look at me go! 😉

Hey now, calm down - don't make me add "precocious" to it. 😁😜😜

ONE watch??!! No way...nada...can't do it! Ask my one and only darling wife...the perfect watch for dressing up can't be used as a daily beater, and vice versa. Diver watches can be used as beaters, but are generally too big for dress shirts and suits. And you sure wouldn't want to use your Reverso to cut the grass on a hot summer day. How the hell could I show off all my watches and straps if the collection numbered only 1? I personally like all the responses, and agree that the Speedmaster is a watch that could make the cut for some people...but only a few of us here are "some people". I find watch collecting just like peanuts or chips-can't have just one.
Survey Man...yep, it fits. Good job Mods!

I would say go with a Speedy sapphire sandwhich... I know, I know... for historical purposes I understand the hesalite. Or if you're an actual astronaut and plan on taking a trip to the moon, which I don't think you are. But for longevity, daily wear peace of mind and just pure elegance I say so for the sapphire Speedmaster. It's a classic watch with a touch of modern technology.

Seamaster Bullhead, It is the wach I want most in the world. I like the way it looks, I just can t decide wether I want the 1969 version or the hassel free modern one. ( Both to be honest but the wife would rip me a new one) Speedmasters are growing on me, but they just don t float my boat, they are just blah blah blah looks wise.

There may be a lot of these threads out there, but I really enjoy them so I'll chime in. Of the three you mentioned in the original post, the Speedmaster would be the obvious choice for value and history. It's versatile so it can be worn on any strap available and will look great forever. However, if I was going to be a ONE watch guy it would have to have a date function so the Watchco 300 with date would possibly overtake the Speedmaster. Now for a TWO watch guy, this would be a perfect combination. I also have zero problems with the Watchco 300 as a frankenwatch and would buy one in a heartbeat.

You can use the second hand of the chronograph to mark the date on the speedmaster 😉

I take it back, Speedmaster all the way! I wonder how many Speedmaster owners do this. I have seen this done before, but never think to do it with mine. I guess I have other watches with date functions that are in rotation so it never crosses my mind.

Is it bad for one of the springs to leave the Chrono in a stopped position long term?

Gray Side of the Moon - Just think the color is so unique, along with the materials...sandblasted platinum dial...ceramic case heated to 36,000F for 3 hours - awesome watch.

For me, it the Seamaster 8400. It goes from the ball game to the board room seamlessly!

When I purchased my first Omega I had my mind set on the 3570.50.. I didn't even look at any other watches.. It is by far my most versitale timepiece and has been a complete joy for the last 14 years... With that said, no way I could live with only one watch.....

I wanted a watch for exactly the same reasons. I did a helluva lot of research, and visited a few ADs. I bought a Speedy Pro Sapphire Sandwich. Pleased with my choice.
For now.

This. Is. Brilliant.

A chronograph is nice and all, but I find myself using the date function almost as much as the timekeeping function. That's why the biggest downside to the Speedy Pro (IMO) is the lack of a date.

I purchased "one watch" , an Omega Planet Ocean. As I have enough funds available I purchase another "one".

You betcha! Less than a day old and I'm the 57th post! Of course, 28 of those are comments by Surveyman 😉
I also love these "one-watch" surveys. I guess because my answer frequently changes?
Today, from that list, Speedmaster. I like ye olde solid back 3570.50. The Watchco 300 (sounds like a stock car race) has never really appealed to be because (please PLEASE don't ban me) I love the Rolex Submariner 114060 (it's okay to deny you love it too. This IS the Omega Forum 😀)
But really, one watch? At a time, yes. Always and forever...hell no!
Sorry if I put that song in your head...
" ...each moment with you... Is just like a dream to me that somehow came true..."
