You can own ONE Omega - which one is it, and why?

As I really like the Speedmaster Pro, the best compromise would be the reference 145.022-68. It has the raised dial and DON bezel of the earlier years and the newer 861 cal movement so it will be easy to service for decades to come. Fortunately, I managed to find a nice one

I'm not quite sure how durable the bezel & hezalite is on the 3570.50 compared to the others but I really like mine and plan on wearing it a ton even if it does gather a few scars. An uncle once told me that chicks dig scars! 😎

I think your uncle is correct! Plus, hesalite can be polished easily and is much cheaper to replace than sapphire (to my knowledge). And Speedy bezels will be around forever!

Speedy is great and tested, but not as suitable for all occasions as the AT line or the DeVille line. Those you can wear on any occasion and configuration and they are classic designs much like the Rolex explorer 1 and Milgauss lines.

On the sporty side only the PO LMLE for me or the PO 2500 cal on 42 mm.

The SMP 300 M is beautiful gimmicky, I much rather they just reissued the 300 as new without trying to "age" the design. Defeats the purpose. The wachco 300 is a different issue altogether . Nice and effective but it's a Frankenstein watch really for your discussion as you ask for Omega watches that one is an omega parts watch, not an omega sold watch.... If it makes a difference.

As cool as the Master Co-Axial is, I almost think people would pounce more on a solid reissue of the 1957 Seamaster - no pre-aged dial and lume, the same case size, and a recreated movement that would fit inside a case the same size as the original. I guess that sort of defeats innovation, but if they made a limited run, I would buy one in a heartbeat.

I like the aged lume. It's not like there is a law saying that new lume has to be white.

The Aqua Terra is a descendent of the Seamaster, and then Seamaster DeVille, and later the DeVille.

I like the aged lume, too. I just think it would be cool if they made a run of Seamasters that were nearly identical to the 1957. Even with pre-aged lume/dial, I just love the original case size and thickness. This new one is pretty darn thick (but then again, I am a thin watch person. I'm not a big fan of having a ton of presence on the wrist).

But I agree. Overall, I like the look of the new piece. That's why it's in my top 3! And, the Master Co-Axial movement is a badass movement. There is no denying that.

Yeah that's my whole point too. I'm ok with the size and movement change but I would even re issue a tritium version and I'm sure tons of people would him on it.

You really should have posted this on WUS.

I thought I'd blundered into that other place when I clicked on this 😉

Glad I could be of assistance. Not many have those custom avatar messages - they're earned because of some behavior (good or bad 😜).

I used to have one that said "Be faithful to one woman. Have flings with hundreds of watches!"
