Several days following a recent battery change I noted that the analog function ( hours, minutes and seconds hands) had all stopped working at 5:34:09. I would appreciate any advice or help with trouble shooting this. Thanks.

I’m not an expert but, with my battery watch, the battery sometimes works loose or out of position and if you unscrew the back, loosen the screw holding the battery in place and adjust the positioning of the battery, tighten and replace watch back it might work okay.

Was the battery swap performed by an Omega boutique or service center?

I DO know that any watch technician should be able to perform such regular maintenance, but having had myself an issue with an X-33 after a battery swap by a non-Omega person, I have now my reservations.

Thanks for the suggestion. Have actually had yet another battery change since this condition initially presented which did not cure the problem.

Thanks for your response. I installed battery. Watch is Gen One issue (1998) which I have owned since new with multiple successful battery changes during ownership. My concern is analog function has possibly “wore out” which I assume would require changing out entire movement? All other features and programs are working like the day I picked it up some 24 years ago. Was curious if any other forum members had a similar experience with X-33.

If you've managed 24 years on the same movement, you'e done very well.

The service on the X-33, gen 1 and 2 includes: replacement movement, hands, crowns, pushers, screws, seals.

I've had this work done by Omega on both generations, and you get a bag back of all the bits they swapped, excluding the movement.

Worth a call to your local Omega Service Centre to get a quote on both current cost and timescale (this has been very long for some models recently). 👍

Unlikely to be worn out. More likely is that debris has entered the case and jammed the wheel train somewhere. The movement is not serviceable by anyone, so the only option for movement problems on these watches is a new movement.

Thanks for response. Do you know if movement for Gen 1 is still available and if so, is Omega the only source?

As far as I know they charge 450 Euros for a service, new movement included. I also think, that this is exklusive work done by Omega.

kind regards Max

On my X33 I had the same problem.
The watch was send to Bienne and came back with a new movement: 500.- CHF

Good evening

Yes, and yes.
