Hello Omega friends,
The red, original strap on my X-33 has given way and is no longer functional.

I visited the NYC Boutique to seek a replacement and they said it's no longer available from them.

Do anyone have a spare, original red kevlar strap for the Gen 1 Mars Watch available for sale?

Andrew

Not exactly the answer to your question, however, I ordered a green one from Nesbits a couple of weeks ago. It will arrive next week. Many times the boutiques simply say they don't have it, without even trying to order it from Omega. Contact Jan at Nesbits and ask her to check the status. You may have to commit to an order, but if you want one, and they are available, Nesbits will track it down.

To add partno. is 98000071 (red flat one), if that fails it's available at swisswatchspares.com but not cheap at 250 gbp. I got my X-33 black coramide strap at the AD for ca. 145 gbp whereas sws wanted 250 gbp.

Wasn't aware the gen 1 had a red double ridged kevlar option until @tyrantlizardrex ' post

Hi Andrew,

Could it be that they're looking for the double ridged strap from the MK1, and what you're after is the flat red from the MK2?

I've found that boutique staff who don't know older models often get a little lost... and computer says no.

EDIT: If you're after the MK1 double ridge in red, that is long gone as far as I understand it.

Cheers

Chris

Not in the field of watches, but many other times I’ve been told a flat “No it’s not available” by the 12 yo counter jumper, without them bothering to check, only to go to another branch with an adult on board, and find that it is available if they actually bother to look!

When I say 12 yo, I’m referring to their apparent mental age, as they seem to think that they’re there to gossip with their fellow 12 yo workmates or fiddlearse about with their bloody phones.
The service of paying customers is seen as a major inconvenience and rude disruption from their facebook or phone gaming!

I guess it comes down to the old adage of “If you pay peanuts, expect to get monkeys!” Apparently these dickheads are only paid to show up, not actually do anything whilst they’re there.
It’s as much as an indictment of senior corporate management’s parsimonious hiring and training practices, as it is on their employees at retail level.

As my dear old dad said “Never accept a NO answer from someone who doesn’t have the power to say YES! “

Hello Chris,
Yes, I am after the double ridge red kevlar strap. The new flat red strap is a bit boring and an unbecoming replacement to my original.

All I can hope for is some who prefers the metal bracelet and has the red original strap sitting in a box to sell.

Actually your post is a violation of the rules for a want to buy, you need 200 posts before you can do so.

I think you're likely to be out of luck I'm afraid Andrew.

The bracelet has always been incredibly expensive (it's now over £1000), so you tend to see watches on bracelets (with maybe a strap too) or just on straps.

The MK1 straps did not age very well, even early on, which is what I have been told led to the design on the MK2 flat version (which in my experience, whilst looking cool, also does not age very well and starts to come apart).
