Recently, a member queried OF's own Mad Dog as to whether or not he would ever buy a Deetoner (Daytona). Clearly, the member held MD's opinions in high regard and was interested to know if a Daytona was ok with the Monkey driving, skateboarding, Hooters frequenting, Dunkin swilling, naval aviator/cop/737 jock, and why not? He's a veteran who served his country proudly in Grenada (and also drove one in the 70s). He kept the streets of Cincy safe while never shooting anyone in the back.

So it seems a no-brainer to get his take on other important decisions/issues. Given what I see on TV every day, he can't be worse than the clowns (politicians, mostly) I see on the boob tube. Maybe it's time to get common sense answers from a guy who wears Metallica socks. I'll start.

Dear Mad Dog,
Paper or plastic?
Paper.

Also, I did not serve in Grenada…it was the Persian Gulf [Operation Earnest Will].

Ginger or Mary Ann?

And we're those carpets really the same colour as the drapes?

OK, I’ll play.

@Mad Dog Who would win in a fight. Metallica, or Led Zeppelin?

😁
Hmmm…probably the Metallica dudes…since they are significantly younger than the Led Zeppelin dudes.

How about ...

Boeing or Airbus?
I have no flight experience regarding Airbus…but I do have flight experience regarding Boeing [B727 and B737…both at Delta]…so…I’d pick Boeing.

David Clark or Bose?

Porsche 911 GT3 or Tesla Roadster?

Jos A Bank or Huntsman?

Bourbon or Scotch?
David Clark…I use the ship’s David Clark headset…because…it’s FREE and I don’t have to haul it around.

Porche 911 GT3.

Jos A Bank.

If I was a drinking man [I’m a retired drinker]…it would be both.

Steam gauges or glass cockpit?
Steam…I began flying with steam in Navy primary/intermediate pilot training in the T-34C and TH-57B/C in advanced…and have by far the most flight hours with steam in the MD-88/90 at Delta.

I had to look up the difference- analog vs digital. I can see this being something that takes a bit of brain rewiring to go from analog to digital gauges. I know just from my car that with analog gauges, the placement of the needles on the gauges can exist in my periphery as I know where they “should” be, and digital requires actually looking at them and translating a number in my brain. It was one of the reasons I picked my current car- it was the last era of production with analog gauges.

Beatles or Stones?
Kinks
Hmmm, JW's slant makes it a little more complicated. John Lennon's kink (Ms. Ono) is definitely a deal-breaker for me, but Mick's kink (underage?) is almost as creepy but will land one in jail...

G&S, Tracker and Bones are no-brainers... Sambas win for the shoes.

Kirby or Moebius?
Or even better....Kirby or Dyson? And the Grenada thing was a joke...since it wasn't much of a war, and it was a lame 70s Ford product. I know you dig your Fords.
