All,

My brother was just discharged from the Army after 6 years. He has a deep interest in and respect for military history, recently expressing interest in a WWII field watch, and asked me if I knew about them.

Thought it would make a great gift on his wedding day as I will be privileged to be his Best Man.

Open to learning more about the A-11 and would appreciate referrals to reputable sellers here on OF or outside of the sandbox.

If you have one that you may be willing to sell, would be interested in starting that conversation.

Thanks in advance!

@64Wing I have just realised that the link i share is for later models of US mil specs, Might still prove useful in identifying similar looking watches and for case back referencing. The watches listed are all 60/70/80. Might still prove handy as a backup on from a budget stand point.

Here is a set of reference material for you to start with at least

yes there is a part2 but it covers the same as i originally listed

All,

Thank you so very much for your kind responses. What a fine bunch we have here on OF!

I'm pleased to share that I've acquired a nice example. Special thanks to @pdxleaf for the hookup!

I managed to acquire a NOS American Watch Co. strap that should be a very nice match for this little gem.

I wonder if I might impose upon you all for one last round of help: spring bars. This is an area of the watch world that seems to go as deep as the minutiae of movements and dial markings. Does anyone know which spring bars were used on these A-11s?

I'm arranging to have this watch sent to my preferred watchmaker for a full service. By then, I hope to have the proper spring bars in my possession. When it returns from servicing, I'll put it all together for photos to share! I can't wait to present it to my brother on his wedding day, but I for sure need to get cracking on a speech 😟

Thanks again, and be well!
