WTB - Any Omega vintage PAF

Hi,

I've been on the hunt for Omega's elusive PAF Seamasters for many, many years. I already own a lovely 135.004 Railmaster PAF as well as an early 80's 166.0209I but am on the lookout for other models (or better versions of what I already own) from sellers who aren't looking to make a quick buck but would be happy to sell it reasonably priced (unlike professional dealers) to someone who has a very personal connection with Pakistan.

I am not on the lookout for any specific model, but would be interested in all of the below (or even others with verifiable proof of a connection to PAF such as the Citizen and Tissot versions as well):
  • The Railmaster PAF 2914
  • The Railmaster PAF 135.004
  • The Ranchero PAF 2996
  • The Seamaster PAF 30 (either 135.007 or 135.011).
These don't come up for sale here often, except from big dealers who seem to pass the same few models amongst each other looking to make more money from circulating it. I understand these pieces aren't of the same level of cultural or historical fascination or significance as other vintage pieces but I would be delighted to build a collection of these if possible.

They come up for sale now and then on C24 and eBay, but like Rancheros, most are either adulterated in some way or, if authentic, then outrageously priced. When a good, fairly priced example comes up for sale, you’ve gotta be quick. Your best bet is to set up a search on websites like watchrecon.com and then wait.

Thanks for your reply and advice. I have alerts active and running on both C24 and Watchrecon but the most common models being offered for sale (in the last 3 years) have been either the Railmaster PAF 135.004 or the oft-discussed, much disputed "Seachero" 2996.

I used to own a Seachero PAF (my profile pic in fact), which turned out to be a redial of a 2914 as per Omega Extract. I have since passed ownership of it to another forum member here (or is aware of its re-casing).

I was fortunate to win a very lovely 135.004 last year at auction (with plenty of help from forum regulars including our very own @watchyouwant but the 2914 remains elusive and despite having a 135.004, I would still be interested if one in better condition came up (mine is lovely but I have seen better ones).

It seems, according to the Davidoff brothers who I spoke to at length about the 2914 PAF's that there were a bunch of them that made their way from Pakistan to auction houses around the 2016-18 period and were snapped up by collectors, predominantly a few in Canada and it's been rather dry since then. The ones that are on offer currently on C24 have been discussed here at length (including by myself) and have all kinds of shadiness and dubiousness about them.

I in fact maintain a detailed sheet of all PAF references sold or offered since about 2016 publicly and there are only about 25 2914's which keep circulating (out of the 277 that were issued/made according to AJTT).

Yes, I admit I am obsessed by them.

Nothing wrong with that. I have the same obsession for the 2990 Ranchero and its Seachero cousin. It took me a long time to find these two.

Oh my, these are beautiful. Especially that Ranchero (arguably, Omega's most underrated endeavor!).

Since we are sharing pics, here are my two current PAFs:
