Picked up a couple of watches this weekend. A Cartier Santos ( quartz) for the missus and a SBGX091 (quartz)

 

Both are beautiful watches. I am more fond of the Grand Seiko though.

 

Both have their charm for sure

Speedtimer in a champagne dial. Who can resist the quirkiness of a 6139er? Mine lately has been running spot on; amazing for a 50 year old mechanical watch. Need to switch up the strap though.

Any recommendations?

How do you guys like the solar quartz models? Never having to replace the battery for a beater watch sounds great

I have three such watches precisely for the reason you cited.

All my other quartz watches (except the G shock), i have had the batteries removed.
