My photographic skills are not great granted.

Please educate me as to exactly how you believe it to be fake. I handled it for quite a time the fit & finish where great, the clasp was tight & crisp & the watch has been worn regularly for a number of years.

I would be really appreciative of your cutting incite from 2 poor photos.

TIA

Firstly, I regret having said anything about that watch since I am very un-expert in anything pertaining to PP watches. But I mouthed off nevertheless, and I'm sorry for any offense I may have caused. Having said that, un-expert me is 99.9% sure that is a "replica" watch, and a poorly executed replica at that. I was going to post a photo from a legit example of the same reference, but that wouldn't be right either because of the copyright infringement issue. If you go to the Sotheby's website, look for the Nautilus ref 5711/A that is currently offered for about $122k. There is a photo of the backside of the watch, oriented about the same as one of the photos you posted. The photo tells the story.

No problem.

I am far from expert & this is one of the reasons that I only purchase new pieces.

I am probably being defensive as I know the chap & he has no reason to lie to me. I have seen some of his other (mostly Rolex pieces) & am a little more comfortable with those as I own DJ & T BB GMT. We also both own AT WT, mine on steal & his on rubber & I have therefore compared closely as I was considering the rubber strap.

Any offence taken is now rescinded 馃榾.

have a great day.

I found the 鈥榚xchange' interesting and thought it might be helpful to post the photo of the Sotheby鈥檚 watch to which I think you鈥檙e referring. I know absolutely nothing about these watches.
