We just returned from our vacation holiday. Did Switzerland for a week and a day which is not long enough. Today I'm still wearing the watch choice for the trip.
Wrong brand for wearing in Schaffhausen.
I'm really proud of Omega for its efforts in creating an exceptional museum. The main displays provide a richly detailed history of the company with audio guide accompaniment to a fabulous collection of Omega watches. Both of us appreciated the breadth of the collection and how the collection displays lent themselves to detailed study. It was inspiring to see such watches in person.
Mrs. noelekal was interested to visit the museum, but came away more enthusiastic and fascinated with Omega than she had anticipated. We both love history of any sort. She got right into Omega history and was delighted to admire the many watches on display. She remarked on how fun it would be to bring our sons and grand kids to see the Omega Museum which has displays and activities for all ages.
We took in the factory Boutique while there. I began this trip considering bringing home a souvenir. Only thing I brought home was a Swiss head cold, caught on Sunday and peaking by Tuesday this week. It was tough for me to soldier on through the Museum under the circumstances, tougher to afflict the kindly Boutique sales staff with a streaming nose, but I made the "sacrifice" and did my duty. Didn't come away with a proper souvenir, but I gleaned inspiration for both old and new Omegas in future.
My only complaint is that no free samples were offered at the museum. Lindt provides all the chocolate one can eat while touring their factory exhibits. Some watch samples would be great!
