With issued SS Bracelet
Not Dad’s watch, but the bracelet was issued to my dad’s cousin, both served in the South Pacific. Dad was ordered stateside, cousin was part of the occupation of Japan.
Dad: Marine Air Corps Solomons and Coral Sea Campaigns
His Cousin: Marine infantry/Occupying Force
Dad and he visited as I was growing up and kept in touch by phone, He was last of his immediate family, no children, so one day, mom, after dad died, got a medium sized black suitcase in a big box with a letter stating what all the items were, they were his and to pass items on to her and her sons, as he was entering Assisted Living. Pretty much all his personal items he packed to come home from Japan.
Folded neatly, of course. Squared Away.
