·We lived in Moose Jaw (Saskatchewan) which is a bit west and south of Regina. We were there for 18 months (and my wife still hasn’t forgiven me for taking that transfer). When it was cold in M J during the winter, we always felt better when we heard that Regina was a degree or two colder. We have been back there once since we were transferred back to Calgary, 52 years ago! Hardly miss it at all. Haysboro is very nearby to us.
I used to work at UNBC in Prince George. Regularly got down to -20s C (coldest day I personally experienced was -26). It also smelled like low tide b/c of the pulp mill (which subsequently caught fire and exploded, with fatal results, sadly). UNBC was a terrific place to work--of the three university systems in which I have worked (US/Canada/UK), Canada's was by far the best. I miss the system, the country, and the people every day, but I don't think I can honestly say that I miss PG all that much :/
