We lived in Moose Jaw (Saskatchewan) which is a bit west and south of Regina. We were there for 18 months (and my wife still hasn’t forgiven me for taking that transfer). When it was cold in M J during the winter, we always felt better when we heard that Regina was a degree or two colder. We have been back there once since we were transferred back to Calgary, 52 years ago! Hardly miss it at all. Haysboro is very nearby to us.

I used to work at UNBC in Prince George. Regularly got down to -20s C (coldest day I personally experienced was -26). It also smelled like low tide b/c of the pulp mill (which subsequently caught fire and exploded, with fatal results, sadly). UNBC was a terrific place to work--of the three university systems in which I have worked (US/Canada/UK), Canada's was by far the best. I miss the system, the country, and the people every day, but I don't think I can honestly say that I miss PG all that much :/

I’m feeling sorry for myself. On Monday I tripped in the kitchen and went down hard. My right ankle took the hit, dislocated and broken in two places. Reset, plates and screws installed yesterday and I’m feeling lousy. Oxy meds are helping. FORTUNATELY, on Sunday I had ordered a Geckota SS bracelet for my 21mm width Autavia 02, and it arrived today via FedEx free shipping.

I was never really happy w the watch on straps (it’s a lot of watch!) so today I installed the bracelet. I like it. Quality seems fair for the price and it looks good.

Trying something different. I “needed” a dress watch so thought I’d try a Pie Pan. Now I just need to get used to a small watch…. we’ll see if it works for me or not

edit to add: Its a try-out on a few levels; first under 40mm watch for me, first silver dial, and can I deal with a non-quick set date window?

Omg all that from a fall? Remember when we were young and you would fall laugh and just get up. I took a tumble with a push mower the other day and felt the blades scrape my boots. I pondered for a minute how badly that could had gone but I was able to get up and continue.

Glad you got the watch to cheer up your recovery. I put two cats to sleep this year and just by chance watches I had ordered came on the different days I lost my two pals. I hope the watch gives you a little comfort during a tough recovery and you can look at it in the future remembering how you bounced back.
