Was a pocket watch kind of day today. Went to town with a 1920 Illinois Capitol 21-jewel watch. Drank coffee with the retirees at the church building this morning and they were suitably impressed, especially with the DaveK braided lanyard on the watch. By afternoon I was filling Mrs. noelekal's grocery list.

The scoop on @noelekal ’s Illinois, from the pocketwatchdatabase.com site.

Low total production on that model. Handsome.

I was at a fiddle jam yesterday. A friend was there also, NOT wearing the watch I serviced for him, and of which he is very proud. I asked him why he wasn’t wearing it, expecting to be told the battery had died. Nope, said he! He never wears it when playing his fiddle. I showed him the THREE watches I was wearing. My Speedmaster reduced, my Landeron 48 2-register chronograph, and my Hamilton 950B. I don’t care if he considered it overkill!

You may or may not know this but Tony Rice was a bit more than an Accutron enthusiast...
