RAF issued Seiko Gen1 on an oppressively hot evening, shouldn't complain as I doubt the heatwave will last much longer ?

Received this “King Samurai” as a birthday present from the wife and kids. Got it right out on the water and wore it on a family fishing trip today.

Possibly the Hottest day ever in the UK today , & I’ll remember the watch I was wearing more than the day in a few years,

Y'all hang in there over there! We're pulling for you.

It's just another in day in June through August here, though we generally don't have to endure endless 100F/37C temperatures every day of our summers in these parts of Texas.

Now 1980 was a different story.

I've readjusted the vents today. I like to be cool, but vents needed to be readjusted to prevent uneven air flow. Was too cool at the small breakfast table off the kitchen and a bit roasty back in our bedroom. Only temperature readings and humidity on our wireless thermometer are ever set to read accurately. The other features are too fiddly and when the unit is knocked off onto the floor the batteries come out requiring a complete reset.

Crossed the Mississippi River at Iowa-Illinois Quad Cities Interstate 80 today...😎

...and finally home now...which of course calls for a switch! 😜

So how many watches does it take for me to do a 5 day driving/moving trip? 🙄

Not to worry, just a reflection of my iPhone. I wear this watch a lot, including in harsh environments (like reaching deep into the engine compartment of a piston-powered helicopter) and there is not the slightest scuff or scrape, anywhere. 😀

Looks like barely enough 😀

New in today - it's not for everyone, but it's been a planned 'highlight' of my modest collection for a while and I couldn't be more pleased - more pics to come in a separate thread in a day or two!

*No, not too tight*, twisted wrist taking a photo with my 'wrong' hand and trying to get depth perspective - did I mention I take horrible wrist shots? 🙄

Ha! No autorotations anytime soon for me. Doing pattern work at KWHP (the little airport at the top of your diagram) and taxiing & turns 5ft off the deck. While I was pre-flighting my little beast at Hollywood-Burbank I did see an LAPD helicopter do a full down autorotation, including a nice skid down the asphalt. LAPD has one bird dedicated to training flights such as this, kind of the aviation equivalent of a “beater watch “.

I don’t like to brag but I’m a free hand solo rock climber I don’t use ropes I rely on the natural cracks in the rock formations to reach the heights. One handed here even more impressive
Edit:rock shorter than me
I also don’t like to brag…but I have unbeatable Kung Fu Grip…it’s so unbeatable that NOBODY in the neighborhood, city, county, state, country, continent, planet, solar system, or galaxy is able to take my Dunkin’…
