Something different! This Cuervo y Sobrinos was recently acquired by a co-worker of mine and I got to try it on today. Being ETA 2893-1 based, the key is an independently settable GMT hand. I think it's very nice!
My friend has nicknamed it "Spanish Bond"! 😜 😜 😜

More on the model here:

And if you've never heard of the brand, a bit more about them here:

Back to my designated flying watch after putting on a new, cotton-canvas strap. This was in response to some silly paranoia on my part...I was worried about the synthetic sailcloth on the OEM strap getting all melty if it was exposed to fire...😵‍💫

...and here's the little beastie buttoned up for the night after my most recent training flight out of KBUR.

I have never been in one of those. I’d love to someday I imagine that hovering and like vertical movement must be wild. I recently saw a video of someone piloting one with large chainsaw type device suspended from it and they were trimming trees following power lines. You know like trimming the trees to cut them back from the road and power lines but doing so with a helicopter. I imagine it would take a truly (or more highly skilled) pilot to operate at that level. Or maybe I’m over thinking it and I could do it after someone showed me how to fly one after a day or two of practice. All flight amazes me but helicopters just blow my mind.

I was listening to this podcast it was a weird one but one speaker theorized that the universe had to be constructed exactly as it was to include the entire periodic table of elements in a certain order so everything could line up perfectly just so earth could have life. So now I’m on like an existence freak out thing reading and listening to various philosophies on the “how” or “why” are we here. I must be going through an existential crisis. I don’t think I had one before.

So in case I’m not “existing” tomorrow here is my watch I would have worn. Just my entry level rado but I’m finding watches less importance as I ponder “how are we here.” Hopefully this passes quickly and I can think about baseball and music again.

Afternoon change out when this arrived back from some cosmetic enhancement ( just a lens polish) has a great lume!

What a difference that made to how photogenic the watch is.

Next step is to find a nice SS Swatch bracelet, did find one that I loved on a current Swatch chronograph but unfortunately can't source a replacement strap from the agent I have been using in Holland so it may have to be an after market strap off Ali express or the like which won't make me too happy as would prefer a Swatch original.

…getting all melty…
Sir, please refrain from saying “getting all melty”. The cool rotorheads would say something more to the tune of “getting all white hot magma-like”. 👍
